We took advantage of one of the warm days before Packer's Fruit Stand gets too busy, to bike there and get ice cream. Another late post (sorry I am catching up). The boys were getting silly on the giant adirondack chair.
A summary of note-worthy events in the lives of the Joneses -- Paul, Erica, Charlie and Lukas.

School Days
I visited the boys for lunch and recess a few weeks ago and got to see them in action.
Lukas is already conquering the thing he wanted to do this year - learn to do the monkey bars!
He is also good at king of the mountain.
Charlie spends his time in the gaga ball pit. Now I understand why I can no longer see the checkers on his Vans. It will make a great mud pit once it starts raining more frequently.
And isn't this the cutest self portrait you've seen!? The dots are his freckles. I about melted when the teacher told me what they were.

WAAM Fly In
A bit delayed in posting, but we went to the pancake breakfast at the recent fly in and enjoyed the WAAM museum. They have a great kids area with hands-on exhibits.
A serious flyer
Submarine
Lukas on Prime Time
Vroom Vroom
Where's the doors on this thing?

Kids Triathlon
Charlie participated in the Gorge Kids Triathlon on Sunday. It was a bit of a soggy morning, but that didn't slow down any of the kids.
Lining up to start the race
(Charlie is first in line - surprise, surprise)
Getting their game faces on.
Riding with a Smile
The smile is still there on the home stretch.
All grins because the race is finished!

Soccer Saturdays
Soccer Saturdays have now begun. This is our first year having our time split between two locations and times.
Charlie had a great game and they won 3 - 2. Unfortunately I was cheering too much and I didn't get any pics.
Lukas had a great game as well. He has become an aggressive little player. They don't "technically" keep score at that age, but the kids always do anyways. Lukas assures everyone his team got more goals; one of them being from him!

First Day of School
Another first day of school in the books.
Charlie - 3rd Grade
In case you can't read the pencil, his "Something I want to do this year" is -
earn money for a mountain bike.
Lukas - second year of Kindergarten
Lukas' is a bit harder to read. Here are some of the responses:
Something I don't really like - Shacks (as in a run down house - random, I know!)
My favorite thing about myself - I run fast
Something I want to do this year - learn to do the monkey bars
Both kids still want to be the same things they indicated last year, when they grow up. Consistency at least!

Final Day of Summer Break
After a whirlwind summer, we took the final day to enjoy some of our favorite things.
A bike ride through the Gorge on a gorgeous day.
Bonus - there were lots of waterfall detours along our ride.
Then, a dip in the pool to cool off.
