Sailing

Sunday, we had a special treat when Lukas' class got invited to sail with the high school team during their practice.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day on the water.

Charlie came and got several rides also.

Charlie caught the sailing bug and wanted to keep going.

Lukas was a bit slower to warm up and didn't want to go on a sail boat.
They were so sweet to pull out the motor boat so that he could get out on the water too.

As we were getting into our car Lukas said, "I want to go on the sailboat now!"

Mug Shots

Mug shots or passport photos...take your best guess!

Border patrol will think these kids are being tortured to travel.

Bubblewrap and Duct tape

A little bubble wrap and duct tape for padding and Charlie was ready to get back on the lacrosse field.  Despite the difficulties handling his stick, he made a few goals.
We are so proud of his tenacity.  He's still living up to his nickname, the honey badger.

Lucky number 7

He wouldn't let me photograph the cast.

Then off to his soccer game.
It was a great match and the cast doesn't slow Charlie down one bit!

More from Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was a blast - the sun was out and good friends were in town visiting.

Lukas went to Packers for their Easter festivities with the Levering girls, while Charlie had a few games.

Easter

Easter Sunday was a beautiful day celebrating that Christ has risen, with friends and family.  We have lots to be thankful for!

Can't Hold Charlie Back

Charlie has his second fractured bone (his first fracture was on his baby toe which only needed a boot).  We think it was due to a few sequence of events.  First he fell hard on his elbow on St. Patrick's Day at the pump track, and then fell again on the same arm at the Children's Park a few weeks later while jumping off of the swing without having his footing right as he landed.  The second fall did him in and he fractured his bone just under his elbow.

He was in a lot of pain at first.

The Orthopedist suggested a Splint for two weeks to keep the arm stable so it can heal, but we opted for a cast, just to be safe.

He's definitely not happy about having to wear the cast during lacrosse season, but luckily it's not for the entire season.

A week later and it's not keeping him from playing soccer!  Just a little padding and off he goes.  Nothing can hold Charlie back from playing sports.

Random Wrap-up

A few more random pics from our trip...

On the last night we ordered pizza and it was delivered by a (wannabe) wrestler.  He carried the pizza in with this WWF belt.  The pizza was in one arm and the belt was draped over the other.  The kids thought it was so cool and wanted to get photos with it.  As you can see, it was half their size!

While we visited, we looked through my Grandma and Grandpa's house to take any items we wanted.  I left with many memorable items and even the kids got a few things.  Lukas was obsessed with this bear so he got to keep it.  My Grandpa would be so happy that the bear has a wonderful new home.

Lukas stole his bear's scarf on the flight home...

Lawn Games

Our favorite part of visiting Modesto is the quality time with family.

Auntie Dena still has some soccer moves.

And Grammy was the croquet champ.

Lukas in Calif

Lukas can't get enough of the outdoors and especially if it means tractors, ropes and wagon.  He'll try to tie up anything as a trailer to things that have wheels that he can drive.

Here he is trying to tie up the wagon to his bike.

We instead helped him tie up the wagon to his car (that he barely fits into anymore...)

Anything goes on the farm.

And now for the highlight -- tractors!  Lukas was in heaven getting to drive the big front loader with Papa Moo.

Here's one a bit more his size.
