Great outdoors

What a gorgeous day for a hike!  Whatum Lake has been on our bucket list for a visit, so we headed up to beat the heat.  It was more than we ever expected.

Did I mention the gorgeous views?

Charlie was such a trooper.  Not only did he hike the entire 4.5 mile (+) hike, every time he came across a tree over the trail he leapt over it.  And there were A LOT of downed trees...

We decided to head up to the peak of Chinidere Mountain, so we headed off the path a bit along the way to make a pit stop for a picnic lunch.

Our pit stop off the trail, although well worth it, took us up the back way to the peak.  What an adventure to get there.  Charlie of course was a "rock" star (pun intended).

Ta Da!!! We made it!!   The 360 degree view was spectacular!!  All of the mountains were out saying hello today.  You can see Mt. Hood and a small Jefferson (to the right of Hood) in this pic.  Behind us was Mt. Adams.  The mountains looked like they were draped with green velvet.

Um...no thank you...but Paul was more adventurous than I.  (A better view of Jefferson in this pic)

On the way back we had beautiful views of the lake so why not stop and take a selfie!?!

One final push up hundreds of stairs.  Really!?!  My legs were shaking by this point.

The only one who had a nap on the way home was the peanut who was carried most of the way...

Preschool Grad - highlights

I thought I would share a few memories from the graduation yesterday...

Songs --
Charlie went to a Bilingual Preschool and the kids performed all of their songs in Spanish.

C

Costume --
They let each child share what they wanted to be when they grew up as they received their diploma.

Then they let them go wild on the bounce house!!!  What a fun evening.

Officially a Kindergartener

Tonight was Preschool Graduation - officially this time.  The theme was "What I want to be when I grow up."  It was fun to see what all of the kids chose.

Charlie ultimately decided he wanted to be an astronaut.  Up until today, he wanted to be a pilot, so thank goodness we had this option on standby!

Teacher Socci!  We love and appreciate her so much.

Adios preschool!!!

More T ball

The season is winding down and all of the kids continue to improve and learn the basics of the game.  Charlie continues to love to be where the action is.

On Saturday he got to play catcher for an inning...

Batter up....
