Weekend Fun

We had a blast with Mimi and FarFar in town.

Mimi was always ready with food in hand for our very own "bottomless pit."

FarFar was always a barrel of laughs.

Mimi taught Charlie a thing or two about baseball while the boys were hard at work on the trailer.  Charlie got pretty good at hitting the baseball.

Meanwhile, Lukas had his own game going, using his hand instead of the bat.

It made him so excited to do it over and over again.

The weather was perfect, so we spent lots of time outdoors in the sunshine!  What a great weekend!!  Thank you for the visit!

Dance Fever

Just love these moments!  It is fun to see Lukas' personality come out more as he gets older.

Walker

Well, at long last I would call Lukas a full blown walker!  He has been toddling around for a month or so, but I would say that he chooses to walk more than 50% of the time now, and his confidence increases in spades every day.  It is actually a pretty amazing progression to observe.  So, for your viewing pleasure, here is Lukas in action (and Charlie is zooming by too).  He is 13 months, 3 weeks old in this video.

More camping fun

Thought we would share a few more fun memories from our weekend at Lost Lake.

As Lukas perfected his walking skills,

Charlie made laps around the "C" loop.

There's nothing clean about camping, or for that matter, boys.

Nothing that a little soap and water can't handle though!

Weekend Camping - Lost Lake

We FINALLY made it camping this year.  This was the first time we ventured out in the canned ham.  It's the perfect set up for us.

Notice the generator - yep, we're "those" neighbors.  The campground didn't have electric or water hook ups so we brought a generator, just in case.  We really didn't use it, since it was so loud.

We have one boy who can't sit still, and our other one (guess who) will sit in a chair until you get him.  I don't think he knew how close to the ground he was!!

The weather was gorgeous, as is Mt. Hood!
Charlie literally ran the entire way around the lake...he is one little athlete!  Lukas chirped away on daddy's back, not wanting to miss one piece of the action.

Lounging at the campsite.  I was so bummed "someone" (hint: not me) forgot to pack Lukas' new camp chair. Luckily Charlie was gracious to share his.

We baked cookies in the camper oven (YUM!) so we decided to make a modified version of S'Mores. They were a hit!  This was definitely Charlie's favorite camping moment!  Though we learned that he doesn't like marshmallows "crunchy from the fire".

First Day of School

Yesterday was Charlie's first day of Preschool for the 2014/2015 school year.  He was so excited to see Teacher Socci and all of his friends again.  Charlie is very social and integrates well in the classroom with his playmates.  He is such a high-energy boy though and can hardly sit still for more than a few minutes.  Bless the teachers' hearts for putting up with him!

We went over lots of different options for what he might like to be when he grew up - logger (like daddy), worker in an office (like mommy), astronaut, fireman - but he came up with policeman.  I asked him what he would do as a policeman and he said he would "pull people over because they were going too fast."

Here are some more of Charlie's favorite things right now (in his words):

Ridin'

As if they didn't have enough to do, the boys were gifted a "new" side-by-side Razor.  Lukas is playing along nicely as a passenger, but I think he is frozen in fear.  Ha Ha!!  Actually, the warmed up to it the more he was riding along.

Hiking

The Joneses hit the trails for a quick hike on Saturday morning.

Charlie led the way - he practically ran the entire thing (he has this thing about winning lately)
